Fitting instructions

Please do not apply in extreme temperatures! Very hot or cold or windy weather conditions, and especially not in direct hot sunshine! Like any vinyl, it gets softer and easier to tear and ruin when it is hot, when cold the adhesive will not stick to the surface properly.

Sunstrip
Bodywork & Glass
Reflectors

Sunstrips

Items needed
– Spray bottle
– A water/washing up liquid solution (a few drops of washing up liquid).
– A squeegee
– Ideally two people, but it can be done with one.

Fitting

– Thoroughly clean the windscreen to remove all dirt, grit and grease. Be careful which product you use to clean the glass, as some will leave a residue behind that will prevent the sunstrip from adhering well. Most alcohol-based glass cleaners evaporate so will be best for this.
– Spray soapy water on your windscreen in preparation.
– Carefully remove the backing paper from the sunstrip, applying a small amount of soapy water as the sticky side is revealed.
– Apply the sunstrip to the windscreen, the soapy water will allow you to move it into position.
– Once the sunstrip is in position, use a squeegee to squeeze out the excess water and air bubbles from underneath the vinyl; be careful not to scratch the vinyl.
– Once it is fitted & you are happy, leave it to totally dry before using the vehicle – ideally leave it for at least a day; Please leave extra time during the colder, wetter months.

Notes:
Please take your time and don’t apply too much pressure until it is flat against your screen.
There is no protective layer on top of the vinyl to peel off.
If you get an air bubble under your vinyl – lightly work it out using your thumb or soft side of your squeegee. You may also use a small pin.

Bodywork and Glass decals

Items needed
– Squeegee
– Trimming tool (blade)

Fitting
– Thoroughly clean the surface to remove all dirt, grit and grease. Be careful with what product you used to clean the surface, as some will leave a residue behind that will prevent the decal from adhering well. Most alcohol-based surface cleaners evaporate so will be best for this.

If your decal has been supplied with a transfer tape
– Prepare the decal for application by firmly rubbing a squeegee across the length of the decal. This removes any air bubbles that may have formed and makes the decal cling to the transfer tape.
– Carefully lift separate the transfer tape and the backing paper, the decal should lift off without any issues. If the vinyl is not lifting off the backing paper, set it back down and repeat the previous step.
– Carefully line the decal up to it’s final position and once you’re happy with it’s placement then place it on the surface and firmly rub the decal firmly with your squeegee.
– Slowly peel the backing paper off at an angle. Be careful not to pull the decal off the surface. If your decal pulls away from the surface, repeat the previous step again until stuck.
– Trim to suit

If your decal has NOT been supplied with a transfer tape
– Carefully separate the vinyl from the backing paper,
You could use a small amount of soapy water (a very light mist) to aid this next step
– Carefully line the decal up to it’s final position and once you’re happy with it’s placement then place it on the surface and rub the decal firmly with your squeegee.
– Trim to suit

Notes:
If sticking to a difficult surface such as plastic, you may need to give it a helping hand coming off the transfer tape (you your thumb to hold the, so far revealed, decal in place while the application tape is peeled off).
If you get an air bubble under your decal lightly work it out using your thumb or soft side of your squeegee. You may also use a small pin.
If you have used soapy water to aid installation, leave it to totally dry before using the vehicle – ideally leave it for at least a day; Please leave extra time during the colder, wetter months.

Reflectors Decals

Items needed
– Spray bottle
– A water/washing up liquid solution (a few drops of washing up liquid).

Fitting
– OPTIONAL (recommended) remove the reflector from the bumper
– Spray soapy water on the surface of the reflector
– Carefully remove the backing paper from the vinyl, applying a small amount of soapy water as the sticky side is revealed.
– Apply the vinyl to the reflector, the soapy water will allow you to move it into position.
– Once the vinyl is in position, use a squeegee to squeeze out the excess water and air bubbles from underneath the vinyl; be careful not to scratch the vinyl.
– Once it is fitted & you are happy, leave it to totally dry before using the vehicle – ideally leave it for at least a day; Please leave extra time during the colder, wetter months.

Lifting a decal off the backing paper

Prepare the decal for application by firmly rubbing a squeegee across the length of the decal. This removes any air bubbles that may have formed and makes the decal cling to the transfer tape.

Carefully lift separate the transfer tape and the backing paper, the decal should lift off without any issues. If the vinyl is not lifting off the backing paper, set it back down and repeat the previous step.

Lifting a stubborn decal off the backing paper

This is a difficult one to explain, so here’s a short video tutorial:

Aftercare

1. Wash Regularly

It’s advisable to wash your car whenever it seems dirty. Try to keep the vehicle clean more frequently because contaminants that are left on the vehicle may be more challenging to remove while cleaning.

2. Vehicle Washes

Vehicle graphics and wraps should always be washed by hand – try to avoid using harsh chemicals on them.
Refrain from bringing your car into a brush-style car wash. This kind of car washing is not advised because it can abrade the film and cause the edges to lift or chip. In addition, they can also dull the vinyl’s appearance.

3. Power Washing

We strongly advise against using a power washer to wash your vehicle. This is the most common cause of damage to vehicle graphics.

4. Removing Stubborn Dirt

Abrasive tools or rough scrubbing should be avoided as they will scratch the film. When removing difficult-to-remove dirt, such as bug splatter, bird droppings, and tree sap, soften it first by soaking it in hot, soapy water for a few minutes, then thoroughly rinsing and drying it.

5. Fuel Spills

If you spill any fuel onto the vehicle, wipe it off immediately to avoid degrading the vinyl and adhesive.
